Groundbreaking Novelist Headlines Chatham Literacy’s Fall Luncheon on November 2

Award-winning author Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle will discuss her acclaimed debut novel, Even as We Breathe, at Chatham Literacy’s Fall for Literacy Luncheon on Thursday, November 2

Clapsaddle, who lives on the Qualla Boundary near Cherokee, NC, is the first enrolled citizen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians to publish a novel. Even as We Breathe was one of NPR’s Books We Love of 2020. A graduate of Yale and the College of William and Mary, Clapsaddle taught English and writing for twelve years at Swain County High School in Bryson City. She is currently president of the Board of Trustees of the North Carolina Writer’s Network.

Need a book? McIntyre’s Books will donate 15% of book sales to Chatham Literacy.  They will also be at the event selling books.

--  Please arrive between 11 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to sign-in, socialize and participate in some of our games (experiential citizenship interview and book spine poetry).
