On Saturday, March 21 at 9:30am, the Chatham County Historical Association will host Between the Lines, our monthly book club where we sit down with friends and discuss books that examine North Carolina’s rich and colorful past. Our March selection is Proud Shoes, by Pauli Murray, North Carolina native and legendary civil rights activist. Published in 1956, it is a riveting recounting of her family’s history from slavery through the Civil War and reconstruction. When: Saturday, March 21 at 9:30am.
